Attaching Sources
Scenario: You have identified the correct head of household on a Census record. One of the members of the household is a paternal aunt. Using the available options when attaching a Source, is there a way to attach the source to the aunt?

Hi Joachim Yes, there is a way. When you are attaching a source, you are using what is called the source linker. The left side contains the source information, and the right side contains the Family Tree information. On the right side near the top there is the option to "change person". Select that and enter the PID for the paternal aunt and you can attach the source. When doing this, if the name on the left and right don't align, then you may need to change the focus person on the left. Just to the left of middle, there is another selection for "change person". Select the paternal aunt from the list. These "change person" prompts are extremely useful. The one on the right changes the focus person from Family Tree. The one just left of middle changes the focus person on the source. Below is a link on using the source linker. Hope this helps.

@Wayland K Adams, it says you're a mod. That means you can edit posts indefinitely, right? You can improve your answer to near-perfection (<grin>) by changing both occurrences of "family search" to "Family Tree".
