I don’t like the window popping open on the right when I try to drag the Fan chart around to position it. Okay, I guess I have to be careful and place the curser on an empty area, not on a name on the chart itself to avoid this problem.

My kingdom for a screenshot. I haven't seen the window popping open on the New Fan Chart View, even if I drag from a slice connected to a person.

I've grabbed from outside the fan, inside the fan on an empty slice, inside the fan on a filled slice, on the root person. No pop-up.

Windows 10 and Firefox, both fully updated.

I still have the same issue. After I drag the chart with the curser on a person’s name then release I get the window open on the right side with the person’s Vitals etc. Windows 11, Chrome latest.

Do you get the old information card popup, with Name, PID, birth, death, with Source/Memories/Collaborate number or nothing when you click on a name in the New Fan Chart View?

I think I see what you mean now. The slice may be a bit over-sensitive. I just got the vitals sidebar a couple of times this morning after dragging the fan. It didn't happen every time.

My monitor is 32 inches, so the sidebar doesn't get in my way, but I can see it could be a problem on a smaller display.

There is now - finally - a Feedback tab on the Beta Fan to report any issues.

Right, I did also submit my issue with the feedback tab.

I wonder if we should be posting these questions/issues in the Tree Pedigree Views group?

When I tried the New fan chart, it said use the Feedback to send my impressions.

First impression: the Feedback does not work. It says "An error has prevented the requested action. Please visit the FamilySearch Community for help or to report an issue. Cancel / Continue

The window popping open on the right causes the rest of the display to jump several inches to the left. It jumps back. It jumps left. It jumps back. This is a migraine generator.

Ad blockers are known to prevent the Feedback button from appearing or functioning properly. AdBlock Plus, uBlock Origin, and Malwarebytes Browser Guard are all known to cause the malfunction. There are probably others.
