Dear Group,

I was so excited to find this site and enter relatives, that I accidentally added the wrong name to a paternal grandparent. It was after a long car ride, researching ancestry for hours, and then discovering this site. Help. It won't let me undo. I put my Maternal Grandpa down twice because I was too tired. 😦 Please advise.

You can edit the surname at any time. If you are confident that your duplicate Grandpa is the same as the original, you can merge them, and choose which parts of the information you want to keep or change during the merge.

Not sure how to do that. I accidentally typed Melvin Frick as my Paternal Grandparent and my paternal is Gerald Beaumont. I was too tired and not thinking.

If you now have two grandfathers with the same name (i.e. Melvin Frick), you will only need to change the name of your paternal grandfather from Melvin Frick to Gerald Beaumont. Here is a link to a help article which describes how to do this: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-vital-information-in-family-tree
