I can no longer access the 1870 US Federal census. All the other years are fine. I am getting a "No Results Found" message. Here is the URL. Have they been removed or is it another glitch? Thanks for any suggestions/help.

I'm not having trouble finding ancestors in the 1870 US Census. I think what's happening is that your particular search parameters are not finding your ancestor. You could try using alternate spellings or wildcards for your ancestor's name. You could also try using less specific information to see what pulls up.

It might help to check out this Wiki page for help in search strategies: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Beginning_Research_in_United_States_Census_Records#Search_strategies

Here's a search where the first result is probably her: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=100&q.birthLikeDate.from=1845&q.birthLikeDate.to=1847&q.givenName=Catherine&q.surname=G%2A&c.collectionId=on&f.collectionId=1438024&c.residencePlace1=on&f.residencePlace0=10&c.residencePlace2=on&f.residencePlace1=10%2CKansas. The indexer was unable to decipher the surname fully, so he/she entered it as "Grati*" (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MCJL-D3Q).

My various searches turned up a couple of other records that may be relevant: a business directory and a Find A Grave entry.

It does seem odd to me that the algorithm wasn't coughing up "Grati*" in a search for "Gratigny". It should be a nearly-perfect match. I submitted feedback to that effect from the search results page.

Thanks to both of you, Julia and Ashlee, for your help. It is strange that the wildcard wasn't being picked up, but I appreciate your responses. You guys are both fab! 😊
