trying to search birth records in Batavia now jakarta my father was John ulricht Fuchs

born 21/12 1923

in Batavia cannot find anything on my heritage

any suggestions

It appears either FamilySearch film 8060128 (Geboorten, Europeanen 1920, 1910, 1916, 1923) or 8213319 (dito. 1921-1923) or 8060102 (misc. years covered) might include the details you require. Unfortunately, they have restricted viewing rights - films can only be viewed whilst at a FamilySearch Center or Affiliate Library.

Records for this period would be written in Dutch, of course.

I'm headed for my Affiliate Library this afternoon (US Eastern), and I can take a look at the restricted images.

Since your father was born late in 1923, it's also possible the birth was registered in early 1924.

DGS 8213319 ends in Oct 1923
8060128 - I worked backward from births recorded at the end of December to those recorded on the 17th with no joy.
8214142 - begins Jan 1924 - poor (faded) image quality so hard to read. I paged forward up to the 15th January without seeing a matching record.
