I'm indexing 1921 Canada Census. The word Lodger is listed in the relationship to HOH, but that option is not available in the drop-down list and will not let me insert it. Why? And should I use the word boarder - which is listed?

Yes, "boarder" and "lodger" are about as close to exact synonyms as a language gets.
