This afternoon, I'm searching for an Irish death in civil death registrations. I have to cast a wide net because those records have been greatly affected by the application of the placename algorithm. IOW, I have to search all of Ireland because you never know which county will have been assigned to the record.
Now, I'm seeing a new strange invention. The Irish death registrations do not list a date of birth. The closest they come is age at last birthday.

The death record for Michael Hession #52 shows that he died on 19 Aug 1920, age 17. The FSsearch results show Birth September 1903.

The index shows Birth Year (Estimated) 1903 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FRLV-435

There is, of course, no Feedback button on Search results.

Sigh.

    @Áine Ní Donnghaile

    In "fairness", I do see a Feedback button on the Results page. To illustrate the problem, it would be better to use the search criteria I have shown at https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=100&f.recordType=2&q.deathLikeDate.from=1920&q.deathLikeDate.to=1920&q.deathLikePlace=County%20Galway%2C%20Ireland&q.deathLikePlace.exact=on&q.givenName=Michael&q.isPrincipal=true&q.recordCountry=Ireland&q.surname=Hession&f.collectionId=1408347&f.collectionId=2659409&f.collectionId=2820100. That gives just two results, both of which illustrate the where-the-heck-did-that-come-from month of birth.

    Of course, that is your main point. How comes this issue has suddenly arisen, especially if the same base collection it being used as before? I come complained on a similar issue with the England & Wales Marriage Registration collection. Suddenly, for no fathomable reason, the "possible alternatives" of spouse (of the individual on whom the search has been made) has been cut to one individual - often of the ****: an illegal position until recently! However, there appears to have been no change in the collection being used (citation still as before), so why the change? Well, I did ask some months ago, but even if the matter was escalated, we still have the same problem.

    @Paul W Thanks for that. I switched browsers and was able to leave feedback.

    I discovered later yesterday that this new invention is also impacting the PQS. Made-up birth dates are showing as conflicting with documented details. I've posted about it in the PQS Group hoping an engineer/mod there will take the problem in hand.

    When I dug into the details that caused the PQS conflict, I saw that there have been multiple baseless edits to the dates on my 2nd GGM's Irish death. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FTC3-32L
