I'm trying to delete the marriage relationship between a man and his step mother. In FS, the couple is listed as "+ Add Couple Relationship". Do I need to add the couple relationship before I can fix it?

Also, in this same family line, someone added a husband's surname to his wife, who, at the time she was born in Hawaii, did not have a surname. How do I correct someone's error…when I originally input this marriage, I only used the wife's given name.

Thank you…Diane Easley

Here's the Help Article explaining step-by-step how to fix relationships: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/img_auth.php/2/26/FT-09_Correcting_Relationships_in_Family_Tree_A_Mann_2016-2909214-I_Oct_2016_JMR.pdf

No, it won't help to add a couple relationship that shouldn't exist. What you are seeing is two people listed in the Spouses section because they share a child. If that child is not actually the child of those two persons, then you can remove the parent-child relationship (as explained in the article Áine provided) and then the "couple" will no longer appear in the Spouses section.
