What does the notation on these two individuals mean?
I just come across a passenger list for the Laundry family arriving in Canterbury, New Zealand in 1874. Having very little experience researching outside North America, and absolutely no experience in New Zealand, I hope somebody can help me. The last two individuals on this page have a notation which looks like "transferred to S W". What does this mean and is there somewhere else I now need to look for them?

It looks like they didn't sail.
There are lots of individuals throughout the manifest with the same notation. Each of their ages are scored through and they are not included in the headcount. My first thought is that S.W. refers to another ship. Possibly the next sailing?
