Images not loading on afternoon of 14 June

I suddenly ran into a problem that when I would click on a "camera" to see images, the viewer would spin and then come up with "0" images. Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem. I backtracked to "films" that I have used in the past and am still getting this problem.

Yes - if I try to use the Old Viewer, I've gotten that this afternoon. If I switch to the Beta Images viewer, I can view. https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/beta

I'm having the same issue with this film group.

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/film/004134124?cat=274859

It used to work, now it doesn't. All the sources that I linked beforehand now show a blank screen.

I've been struggling with this as well.

Source Linker's "view image" link works if it's to an image in a waypointed collection. If it's not, then it doesn't work. So it's specifically the film-number-based part of the old viewer that has been broken this afternoon.

I've come up with a (highly unsatisfactory) workaround, but it only works with the non-human-parseable URLs, such as the ones you get from Source Linker: replace the stuff after the question mark with view=index&action=view. This will take you to the new viewer-and-editor, which is infuriatingly awful at every single task it's charged with, but it will show you the image.

@Ashlee C. Can you please escalate this issue? Using the new viewer is the ONLY option, and, sorry to say, it's not a viable option, considering how slow it moves and how often it sends a "cannot display" or "this page is slowing down your browser" message.

    Thank you.

Now I'm getting a message, in the NEW Viewer "unable to display, try the old viewer." Of course, that gives me another error. Chrome Windows 10, both fully updated. I'm still able to use the new viewer in Firefox.

Knock on wood, but the catalog's viewer is working for me again.

That is not only problem reported, but also "delete" feature is disabled. Delete is used to remove bad information that's on the profiles (baptism, burials and "also known as") are now not working.

The FamilySearch Library (in SLC) staff are reporting the issues, too.

Delinking is not a problem. Just the films/images and delete

From my experience, deleting a Custom Event on an individual profile is not working today. Not sure if this problem is related or not.

As of yesterday, 15 June 2024, when I try to delete a duplicate Fact or Event in the FamilySearch Tree, it returns the message, "An error occurred while attempting to delete."

Example: Charles Turner [GTMX-WBF] has two Facts, Race: Colored and Race:Black or African American. When I try to delete the Fact, Race: Colored, it returns this message.

I am unable to Delete an entry in the Events Section for an individual profile. When attempting to delete, I get an error message "unable to delete ,,," (which flys in for about 2 seconds, so I am unable to do a screen print to attach to this message). Does anyone know if this is a software enhancement gone awry? thanks,

    DL Melville

There is also a problem with Saving corrections in Marriage events. Can't Delete, can't Save a correction. Both give error responses.

I am having the same issue as of yesterday, cannot delete marriage events. I have done everything possible on my end of things. Cleared all browser caches of history and cookies, went through all my browser website security controls. I use two different browsers, same issue. All my work on Surname descendant file data, clean-up on duplicate entries, has come to a grinding halt. How can I know when this will be fixed? For now, I will have to keep a log of all the file numbers that I am working on, so I can go back later and finish completing the data clean-up on the marriage events.

I could not delete a birth event earlier. Perhaps a moderator would kindly confirmed the problem has been escalated.

The current problem with not being able to delete events has been reported in a number of posts. I expect this won't be picked up by a moderator / other FS employee until after the weekend.

Cannot delete "Alternate Names", under "Other Information" without getting the error message.

The "error" now appears to be fixed, for deletion of "Alternate Names" and "Marriage Events". Thank-you Family Search, for the correction and attention to this Error Bug! I can now finish the files I am currently working on.

I am able now to delete a duplicate Fact. So this issue has been resolved.

Thank you for reporting these issues. The engineers are aware of this and are working on it. This issue should be resolved now.
