I have indexed thousands of City Directory entries and have never seen this/

At the bottom of the first column there is

surname : Erickson

first: Marcus

Marcus K

unreadable

Carl R

Caroline

Casper P

Charles

I am confused because of the indentation and that they are out of alphabetical order. Maybe they were missed earlier in the city directory and just added to the bottom of the column. Any helpful thoughts? Thank you

Whatever the case was, index the names as listed. It's not unheard of for names to be out of order in a directory.
