Hi, could someone expand the meaning of these two points that are found in the instructions? They both sound similar.

  1. Some images have businesses listed with residential listings. Do not index the information of businesses into the data entry area. Index only residential information.
  2. Do not index occupations or business information with the principal's information.

So if there is someone's name listed within a business directory, do we not index those? It would just be those listed at residential addresses? Could someone give me a little more direction or give me an example?

I love indexing these records, but not sure if I've been doing it correctly.

Any individual listed within a business listing—ie Clark Publishing Co., John Clark, President—will not be indexed. They will have their own, separate, listing elsewhere in the directory.

The second instruction is when you see something like John Clark (President, Clark Publishing Co.). When you have a listing like that, only John Clark will be indexed.
