Yes, when I plug in certain search parameters and I get the child's name as the Mother, death dates centuries more recent the specified one, etc. the search function is "illegal" for violating search rules. It was so bad tonight, consistently, that I have to wonder if the likes of A.I. delusion has set in. Hey, make this as simple as affordability requires but please end the illegality.

Are you ticking the "Principal" box, under "Add Record Options", to force the search to focus on the name you are searching as the Principal of the record?

No, because on my computer it was below the horizon and, thus, hidden. It exists only in the "Edit Search" screen; in other search screens it does not exist. I will be sure to do so going forward, thanks.

It is visible in the primary search screen, although it is down the page. Visible here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/ with 1 click on "More Options."

I agree, but that too is a derivative screen. Again, I'll remember, thanks. BTW, nice gaelic name you have.
