Adding a family member with unknown relationship?

I am working from a family story that my father had a cousin, Morris M--. I have found census and death records for Morris and I'd like to add him and those sources to my family tree to keep track as I go backwards through his father and grandfather to see if I can figure out the relationship, adding persons as needed to keep track. Is there a way to do that? Do I need to create a new family tree for Morris separate from mine?

Thanks for any help!

    .

'No', you do not create a NEW Family 'Tree'.

    .

You can "Create" them as ... "An Unconnected Person" ...

    .

Certainly, until you establish all the links/connections.

    .

One place that the "An Unconnected Person" facility/function/feature can be found is on the "Pedigree" View (personally, I prefer the "Landscape" one); and, under "Recents", right down to the bottom.

    .

Unconnected Person _ Pedigree _ Recents

    .

Best to take note of the 'FamilySearch Person Identifier' (PID) when you do "Create" them; as, they will be much easier to access (find/locate).

    .

    I hope this helps.

    ps:

    .

We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".

    .

We ONLY have "Branches", that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".

    .

"Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" is NOT like "Ancestry_com" or the like.

    .

We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" like other "Web" Sites; and/or, 'standalone' personal programmes.

    .

We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".

    .

"Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".

    No probs ... enjoy.

    .

You can search for them using the "Find" facility/function/feature; but, it is much easier if you know the PID (ie. have it handy).

    .

We have all ... been there; and, done that ... especially, when you forget the details.

Thanks, Brett, that's exactly what I needed. And thanks for the hint about the PID; I can see I will need that info until I can connect up Morris.
