Which project is this? If it's the U.S. Directories, then the project instructions say, "If a spouse is listed as deceased by the words "wid" or "widow of," do not index the spouse." So, no, we don't index dead spouses. To read the project instructions for any project, go to the last icon in the toolbar (it has an "i" over a page of writing).

No. From Project Instructions/What To Remember About This Project:

If a spouse is listed as deceased by the words "wid" or "widow of," do not index the spouse.
