While indexing death records I frequently find the deceased was widowed and remarried.

I have been typing BOTH the deceased spouse's name and the current spouse's name on the "Given Name" line. (I capitalized the surname for each spouse.) I could not find any specific instructions in the batch instructions. Can you help me out?

    You index the living spouse.

The Help center took away the instruction for this, but it's always been the rule to enter the current or most recent spouse. We don't enter names for two different people in the same field.
