GSHS-PK5 is a person created as the result of an indexer error, so he doesn't really exist. How can he be deleted?

You said while deleting a relationship that he is actually Caspar Göner, so I think the best thing to do would be to merge him with Caspar Göner, and just explain the issue in the reason statement, or if Caspar isn't in the tree, you can just change his name to be the correct one.

The 'Why can't I delete this person' link on the profile Details tab indicates: 'If this person never existed, use Get Help and Contact Us to have the data removed.'

If you click on Get Help (i.e. the 'question mark in a circle' icon) and hit Contact Us on the resulting panel, you will get your local help options listed.

If that does not (or did not) work, please post again here.

I tried our local help and, as I suspected, he has no idea how to delete a person. But I like Brayden's suggestion to just merge him with the correct person. So I'll do that. Thanks to each who responded. I really appreciate the help.

The merge idea does sound best.

However surely the relevant country help service should have been able to help with this administrative request, would a mod be able to chase this up?

@MandyShaw1, every "nonexistent person" I've ever encountered or heard about has been either the result of abuse, or the result of an error about a person who did exist. There is a dedicated reporting mechanism for the first scenario: "Report Abuse", and an existing user-controlled correction for the second: merging. Thus, there is absolutely no reason to involve your local Support people.

(I've posted about this problem to the New Person Page group, but unfortunately, I don't think the engineers are checking that any more.)
