Record hint not appearing
On my hints tab there are a whole bunch of people that have hints but when I click show hint there is no hint?

missing hints. Here's the proof from the latest (morning 3 days ago it had 359 PIDS having hints, then in the after it sudden went to 14)
Friend also reported same problem (she's in Florida and I'm in Utah).
This new layout is NOT allowing attachment of screenshots (!!)

I've got the same problem since the latest "improvements to the website".

When I click on a hint on the Record Hints page, something flashes too fast for me to see what it is. The record hint icon turns to a blue circle with an "X" in it. When I go that that person's person page, there are no record hints.

When on a person page, I am no longer seeing record hints. There were plenty of them yesterday, but not today. If I do a FamilySearch record search from the person page, there are plenty of matching records. They just aren't surfacing as hints.

I still see plenty of record hints at
Out of the first 10 that I examined, most of them worked exactly as they always have. When I expand the hint list entry, I see 1 or more record hints. The number of hints shown on the hint list matches exactly the number of hints shown for the person when I visit their profile page.
But for 2 of the first 10, when I try to expand the hint list entry, the record hint icon changes to a blue X and no record hints are shown. For these two profiles, when I visit their profile page, I see no record hints. So the fact that there are no record hints in the hints list is consistent with the fact that there are no record hints on the profile page. The mystery, of course, is why the the person's name appears in the hints list at all, if the person has no record hints. In one of my cases, there are a couple of dismissed record hints, and in the other there have been some merges. Not that those situations justify a person with no hints appearing on the hints list, but perhaps those are clues as to why they might incorrectly appear there.

Every one still in my list - every one with no hint. I recognized several of them as ones I took care of within 2 weeks AGO.

Yes, I'm seeing the same problem. The hints that would normally show up in the "Research Help" section of the person page are no longer appearing as of a day or two ago. If you add a new person in the tree, with a birth date and place and even with parents, the "Research Help" section isn't even showing a census record or any other hints. It just shows, "There are no pending helps for this person." But, if you click on "FamilySearch" in the "Search Records" section, there are lots of matching hints that should be showing up in the "Research Help" section, but for some reason they have stopped showing up in the last few days. See ID# LVYW-SJ7 as an example. Something has definitely changed.

Hints is not working at all right now, I have a bunch of names but all that I look at come back with (There are no pending helps for this person.) or (Possible Missing Child) which is no hint at all, so what is going on with hints that it is no longer working. In other words your most recent update did not do what it needed to do and made it worse.

Hi all,
yesterday I suddenly had some 45 Record Hints assigned on the first page. However, each of them is empty. No link to see that record. The icon top right only changes changes from that document symbol to the cross as if I had finished the tasks.
Had hoped of a system error and things would clear up over night (either show the real task or disappear again), but it did not. Also looking at some individuals hoping the record hint would show there was not successful.
Anything I can do to remove these empty record hints?
I would add a screen shot, but cannot figure out how to do that.

Hello,
I've spent a lot of timing building out trees and attaching sources for fun.
As of the past few days, it is presenting me the same people over and over again in my hint section. When I click the link for the hint, no hint exists. I close it out and when I refresh the page, they all come back. I have people distantly related with real hints that I am not seeing.
Any idea why this is happening and if there is anything I can do to fix it? 😪

As for today my situation changed. Now there are only a few "empty" hints left. All other hints which hat record have disappeard. The same is now happening in the app also. So both website and app hinting is brocken.

Confirm that. From 45 empty hints the last two or three days it overnight went down to 22 without touching them.

I sent the issue to FamilySearch Support yesterday and here's what they said: "Thank you for contacting FamilySearch Support regarding a problem that Hints are not working as intended. This has become a "known issue" today. Your information, and a few others, has been forwarded to an internal department for further evaluation."

Hints are hiding in places you never thought of.

@W D Samuelsen contact me please Yep, they have been there allready for a long time. In the past, if my hinting list was empty I used to go there. Mostly there were more hints waiting there. 😄
Since the hinting on my personal page is broken, I'm using the https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/hints again. I've got it bookmarked, so not so hard to get there. 😉
BTW, not only the hinting for new records is broken, but also the hinting for possible duplicates seems not to work well also.1 -
That is separate from the source hints. The AI now being used, found more duplicates than before.

Well for me no duplicates are shown anymore as a hint. On the contrary, since the hinting system is broken I have to actively search for duplicates. For me the AI is causing more problems (primarely which Dutch records) and not very helpfull at all.
The user experience is not really improving. Just my 2 Cents

Same problem here, not sure what's up. Even when I go on the app and tap the icon, it just vanishes. Hopefully they fix it soon, because that was one of the really nice ways to add sources.

It is getting worse!
Now the alleged hints affecting much closer to me (hint for my deceased uncle who died 6 months, all hints already accounted for.)
And the numbers on list, increased and still no hints.

When I Click on Tasks, and then on to the name, no record hints or temple work is showing. Is there a glitch in the program that is making adding record hints not operate correctly?

I'm having the same issue: a list of "hints," but when I click on the profiles, there's nothing new.

It appears that this bug was just recently fixed. And the fix seems to be in a service that both the website and the mobile apps relied on, so it is working everywhere now.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile My experience during the time of the bug is that I was seeing many hints shown in my hints list that were not truly available hints. This was a recent significant increase, but it wasn't real. When I would click on these new hints to try to see the details, there was nothing to see. So having them disappear was the right thing to happen. Now the remaining hints that I see are truly available — I'm seeing essentially the same set of hints I saw a week ago.
