How did my post get in that group in first place? I just posted under general group where only one can create a new post.

Those identifiers like QPYB-VGJ3 are for people on records, not people in Family Tree. The first image is saying something is not right with the indexed record, and since it's referring to indexed personas, it uses their identifiers, which are an entirely different system from the PIDs used to refer to people in Family Tree.
If you look in the lower left corner of the second image, you'll see that same QPYB-VGJ3 identifier, referring to Joseph A Ackermann in the record.

still same persons. I am referring to the source not being attached due to extra digits.
So why can't the source be edited to get rid of those non-Family-Tree PIDs so the source can be attached?

The unique ids of Personas (i.e. people listed on Record indexes, also corresponding to the identifier on the end of the relevant Source's 'ark' url) very frequently have 8 significant characters rather than 7, I am not sure why that fact specifically adversely affects this situation? Sounds more like there is some sort of index corruption in play here.

@W D Samuelsen contact me please, the problem has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with PIDs and everything to do with the new Source Linker's unhelpful error-handling. If you go back to the old source linker, you can link up the source just fine, despite the GenealogyBank computer-indexing being unusually creatively bad in this case (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPYB-VGJW).
(With a public FS account like mine and no GB subscription, I can't see what the obituary actually says, so I don't know why there's a "Mrs. John J Monroe" indexed as both Betty Ann's wife and sister.)
I suggest posting in the New Source Linker Feedback group (https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/324-new-source-linker-feedback), asking for that unhelpful error page's removal from the process.

The obituary is for Joseph A Ackermann
The other people named in the obituary with their proper relationships are:His wife Sue Cunningham
His daughter Mrs. John J. Monroe aka Betty Ann
Siblings: Rudolph A Ackermann
Mrs. Freda Harris
Mrs. Helen Wilson
William and Gertrude Miller
Grandfather of three
Looking at the the indexed record from the main person, Joseph's point of view, there are a couple of errors in the indexing:
Anyone that can see the full record including the image want to to into the editor and try fixing the index at the risk of having it vanish all together? That should fix the source linker problem.
Should Betty Ann be deleted from the index and the other line for her be corrected to Mrs. John (Betty Ann) J. Monroe? Or should it be exactly what is in the obituary some other way? The obituary states "Dear father of Mrs. John J. Monroe (Betty Ann)."
The index from Betty Ann's point of view is even worse than from Joseph's point of view:

The point of the problem - it's that ID problem, not letting me edit. Other than that, easy to fix. This problem shows up in "new" source linker.

Or are the sibling relationships:
Siblings:
- Rudolph A Ackermann
- Mrs. Freda Harris
- Mrs. Helen Wilson
Half-sibings:
- William Miller
- Gertrude Miller
What can't you edit @W D Samuelsen contact me please ? Can't you get to this: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSM9-G9KM-S?view=index&personArk=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQPYB-VGJW&action=view ?

Gordon, you got partial right. I already fixed in OLD source linker. The problem is the NEW source linker.
There are no half siblings. All are brothers and sisters, and William Miller is in error, it's William David Ackermann. Gertrude did not have husband named William Miller at all. It's Charles O. Miller.
