Relatives at RootsTech disappeared 31 March 2024. It was to be active until 1 April 2024. The system closed one day early. Will another day be added to Relatives at Roots Tech to make up for the electronic glitch that closed it 24 hours early?

Relatives at RootsTech has ended. The feature always said it would end on March 31, and it did end on March 31 (it ended sometime in the middle of the day, depending on your time zone). The only place I know of where an April 1 date was mentioned was an unfortunate paragraph on the RootsTech.org FAQ. I know that's disappointing to people who had hoped to enjoy the experience for a few more hours, but I see no indication that it will be turned on until February 2025.

I read the March 31 and April 1 and took that to mean end of day Utah time March 31. I never saw a "time", which hopefully will be included in the future. Disappointing.

FamilySearch runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

While I appreciate the utility and entertainment value of the event, it's rather perplexing that its functionality seems to be sporadic despite the significant computational resources that must have been invested. I can understand that for this reason the list of relatives is not to be updated after the event, but I cannot understand the reason why I cannot keep the list of relatives, since we all agreed to be contacted. It leaves me a sentiment of emptiness and abandonement, despite the gratitude I feel for being part of the event.

If the problem is the traffic generated due to text messaging, you could reference to an external messaging system in the form of a contact. I don't want to sound harsh but I feel some vertical imposition non sense with my current knowledge here.

Edit: Also if the problem is legal privacy issues and concerns as I read on similar posts, just give an external contact medium as I said and wash your hands after the event, the deadline is completed and everybody is happy with their contact list.
