At our recent Roots Tech Leadership meeting in March 2024, a new tool was introduced by the Temple and Family History Executive Counsel Instruction video . They outlined the use of this tool, called "family name assist" by local ward bishoprics specifically for new converts to print out their limited use recommend and an ordinance card of a deceased relative, as they prepare to go to the temple for their first visit.

It was not communicated when or how this new feature was to roll out.

Since the counsel announced this feature will someone with family search or the family history or temple department let the rest of us know when this feature will be useable?

Can a ward clerk find it on his LCR now?

Will someone instruct local leaders on how it is to be used?

Where can one find out more about this tool?

Thank you for your excitement about the new features announced at RootsTech 2024. We are excited as well! Concerning Family Name Assist, questions regarding this tool should be addressed to Priesthood leaders who can grant proxy baptism and confirmation recommends.
