Reviewing US, New York—Eastern District—Naturalization Records, 1899–1955 [Part F] [MQJ3-G9C]
The indexer has included information for two people for whom there are no indexing images. S/he has entered record numbers in sequence consistent the last person for whom there IS an image. What do I do? The indexer got the information they entered from somewhere but it's not showing in the batch I'm reviewing.

@BJGW I'm betting they are taking the information from reference images or from an outside source. As the reviewer I would use the trash can to delete the incorrect entries. Also, for the Oath of Allegiance, the record date should be 4 Aug 1908. The overlay (2nd entry of image 1) is a Declaration of Intention which is indexed separately from the Petition for Naturalization on Image 2. Do not combine information from either record for either entry. For the Intention, the record place should read Otsego, New York, United States of America. For the Petition of Naturalization, the record place should read New York, United States of America.
In fact, you will need to correct the Record Place box for almost every record in the Eastern District batches, because too many indexers are either not reading the project instructions or they ignore the PI altogether because they are indexing for speed and quantity instead of accuracy. - Just my opinion, but we all need to review the PI regularly because sometimes things change and almost every records custodian (every state or government entity) has different requirements for different batches.
Have a great day and thanks for taking time to get everything correct. 😎

Thank you so much! 😊 And I agree that it seems some indexers aren't reading/understanding the directions or are going for speed rather than accuracy. Sometimes I just mutter to myself. But then I repent and give thanks they're indexing at all.
