Hi, I would like to correct a record for someone on my family tree. I found a record for my mother but some of the information in her record is incorrect. It has her mother listed as her father and the town she died in as her father. I'm not able to fix this, where can I go to have someone correct this and give info regarding her mother?

The word "record" is often over-used in genealogy and may need clarification.

If you mean the original record is incorrect, FamilySearch users cannot make those corrections. You would have to contact the jurisdiction where the record was created - the town, county, country, church, or similar.

If you mean the index does not reflect what is in the record, it's possible that can be corrected, if the image is resident on FamilySearch servers.

If you mean the entry in the FamilySearch Family TREE is incorrect, then you can edit it. The FamilySearch Family Tree is fully open-edit and collaborative.

If you want to supply more details, we may be able to provide a more specific answer.
