mtDNA and yDNA haplogroups

It would be very useful to be able to add a particular mtDNA or yDNA haplogroup to a profile on familysearch. This would help those who are searching for unknown parents or grandparents. It is available on Geni and I have found it invaluable in my research. Many thanks.

There is nothing stopping you from doing that. Go to a person page and in the Other Information section add a custom fact.

I would say that if you are looking for unknown parents or grandparents, you should work exclusively in DNA sites such as Ancestry, MyHeritage , FamilyTreeDNA, 23andme, etc. This is an open edit tree where the right people are much less likely to see your DNA info that people on these sites.
