Add "Date" field for ALL sources
I've been working a lot with the Georgia Tax Assessments, and have gained a lot of valuable insights. I have been able to add dozens of sources to a dozen ancestors, and been able to track some of their movements over time. But there are no dates on the sources, so I have to page through the documents, find the date, and add it manually to the sources list and the details page. I tried to add the field in the editor, but there was no date option. I'm not saying that it should be indexed over all records, but I need the option to add it to the individual record! Dates are essential!

I think you must be talking about the image viewer's blue Attach to Family Tree button.
The source-creation process that that button initiates is old: it predates most of the features of the current Sources page on a profile, such as source tagging and sort-by dates. That's why it doesn't have a date field and you have to add that later (although you can put it in the Notes field, to make it easier to find for that later addition).
The thing I find puzzling is that they've re-created that button's functions on the newer image viewer (and index editor) -- but without adding any new features.
The only difference between the buttons is that unlike the old one, the new one is not disabled by the fact that there are index entries associated with the image. (This is probably mostly because the new viewer-and-editor is definitionally only available on indexed image groups.)

Hello Julia,
Thanks for considering my question. What I was actually looking for was a way to add a date field directly to the source, rather than on a person's source list. The new editor allows adding fields, but only from a list, and I couldn't find date on the list. Turns out, there are different field choices for the different sections, and I was looking in the wrong section. But I've since found it!
