Choose Specific Projects in Your Impact
I am thrilled to be able to now see attachments that are taking place from the records I have indexed or reviewed. However I would like the ability to view statistics on a few large projects.
From the YI totals I can see over the past 12 days I am averaging abt 52 attachments a day. I am only shown names for 15 or fewer.
Those number totals (Indexing, Name Review, and Family Review) above the people's pictures don't include all of the attachments being done from my work. I don't understand what the rest of them consist of.
I did a lot census review for two places I had lived and I am thrilled to see the results of that. However in addition to that, unfortunately the computer has chosen to show me only Oregon death records. I no longer have any family in Oregon. It was a difficult project, the first one I attempted in indexing.
UK is where my ancestors are and I would like to see if I had any impact there. I indexed many thousands of UK church records, some as early as 1599, some much later.
The other project I would like to see statistics for is USA City Directories. I am currently spending several hours a day on the present City Directories project. It would encourage me to see that the previous CD project indexing I did was useful to someone.
I think this change would help indexers and reviewers to focus their efforts on the areas that matter to them the most, and are the most helpful for other people. Most of us may have opportunities in our communities to make a difference in people's lives. Those of us who are seniors are often limited to volunteering from home. This is one activity I can do from home but I have another that directly benefits people here. I need to know both of these activities are useful to other people.
Thank you for a wonderful FREE site and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
