Hi,

Newbie here. I strongly believe one of my 4th great-grandmothers listed in my tree is incorrect for several reasons. I believe her parents listed are wrong and/or she is duplicated wrong. First, they would have been 9 and 8 yrs old when they had my 4th great-grandmother. Second, one of their children (my 3rd great-grandfather) has the middle name BOYD which I will explain below.

Currently, my tree has Janet STEWART GNV-K6M as being married to George KERR LT83-5CM. Her parents are currently listed as Edward STEWART and Margaret LITTLEJOHN. I believe Janet STEWART LLCD-9X4 to be the Janet STEWART that was married to George KERR LT83-5CM because her parents are Hugh STEWART and Agnes BOYD. They named one of their sons George "Boyd" KERR 9MC1-Z5S because "Boyd" is her mother's maiden name. It makes sense.

How do I approach getting this looked at and possibly corrected?

Thanks.🙂

Hi! I'm just a user like you, but I visited a local Family Search Center and got help from someone in-person - just yesterday in fact. I know that there are also helpful articles under the "?" button at the top right of the page too.

From what I understand, it is us users that do the corrections. Including sources (they can be easily attached too!) is a good way to keep erroneous info from creeping back in.
