Hi, im indexing city directories and need to know what the small letter "c" means.

Here is my batch number

US—City Directories, 1902–1935 [Part B][MQNJ-NX5]

If you go all the way down the first column to the very last name, Turner, Allen you will see a (c) after his name. Then in parenthesis is (Jaunita L).

it looks like this: Turner

"Allen (c) (Juanita L) lab Inter Harv.........

Is Juanita L the spouse? Do I go ahead and put Juanita L in the spouse's name field? Or does this (c) mean something else and we should NOT index that name after it?

C means "colored." Race is not indexed in the project, so you can ignore that and Juanita is the spouse.

Thank you so very much! I was hoping I did NOT have to go back and re do all my indexing on the project.
