Allow time before closing a deceased member's account
One year after baptism and initiating a FS account, a member suddenly died. Less than 24 hours after his death, the ward clerk entered his death. The FS account was disabled only a day later. FS consultants had been helping him with his research. On his death, the remaining non member family members .... are receptive to adding information to FS about the family .... to his account. I was told by the FS help line .... that once an account is 'temporarily closed' (as noted on screen when we tried to open his account) ..... the account cannot be 'temporarily opened' again. If an account is 'temporarily closed' .... it should be able to be 'temporarily opened' again.
Suggestion: When a person dies .... allow for a 30 -90 day hold period ..... prior to disabling the account ..... and place a 'pop up note' ..... on the FS screen that notifies the user .... that they have ( ) days remaining ..... before the account is disabled. Thank you.
