This has happened many times and I am having to Skip names. In Full Name Review: When I go to stage 2, I see that someone has entered the entire name in GIVEN NAME. I remove the incorrect surname from the GIVEN NAME box. I added the category of SURNAME NAME, but I am not allowed to populate the new box. I called your help line and she was unable to find the issue and suggested I document this issue.

@JANICEGRANDCOLAS Thanks for bringing this up. I tried to recreate your problem on Full Name Review. I found that the surname box will populate. But you need to go back a step and fix the highlighting. The given name needs to be on it's own highlight and the surname needs a separate highlight. Once I accomplished this the surname box populated on its own at step 3. Try this and let me know if it works.

Here's what it should look like:

Nope. Can only add name/info when populated with a full line box (not ———) and how do we get that if there are none at all in the adding section. No problem when steady line box is present.

@nanlwar Here's a help article that may answer your questions about Full Name Review:

Ashlee C, Can you clarify for me #5 in that help article? Are we supposed to scan the entire page and put highlights for the same given or surnames anywhere on the page? Are we supposed to click to "attach" them?

I also have difficulty creating new highlights. When I click and drag, no new highlights are created. Thus, I have just dragged a neighboring highlight to a new section of text when I needed one. Does that work, or does it mess up what you are trying to have happen?

And I just tried now to create a new highlight. One try out of 15 actually allowed me to create a new highlight. Not sure why it doesn't work for me.

@marybeth1 I am not sure about the answer to your first question. According to the help article, you should be looking for any instances of the same name appearing on the page. But I don't see anywhere to add them. The only place to add highlights appears to be on step two, but it says, "Note: if you see a name more than once, you don't need to select it here."

I will look into that and get back to you when I have an answer.

To add highlights, you click 'No' on step 1:

    image.png

This takes you to step 2. Click on the existing highlight to change its start and stop place. Notice in this example the whole name is highlighted, but I need to separate the first and last name, as well as add a field for the Mrs. If I click on the highlight, then drag my cursor to the edge of it, I can drag the edges to shape the highlight.

    image.png

I created a highlight for 'Mrs.' by hovering over the word and clicking. Now I need to click on "attach" to make it permanent.

    image.png

I couldn't add a highlight directly over the 'Abigall'. I'm thinking this might be because Abigall was part of the original highlight, so it won't let me do that again. However, I clicked as close as I could, then dragged the highlight to cover Abigall. Notice that I still need to click on 'Attach' to make it permanent.

I noticed that if I clicked on "create a new highlight" on the side bar, I couldn't make a highlight. I'll send that bug in to the engineers to be looked into. But for now, just click on another word to create the highlight.

    image.png image.png

Now that I have the highlights where I want them, I can click on 'Next' to go to the next step.

In this next step, the words might not reflect what I have highlighted. In this example, 'wife' was the surname. This is likely because I clicked on 'wife' to create my highlight for Abigall. But I can change the text to reflect the actual highlighted name.

When you click on the text in step three, the highlight will change to blue, showing you which word the computer is referring to. In the example I showed you, my names were mixed up. I dragged them into the proper place and then changed the text to reflect the right names in the right order. I also had to add a 'Surname' field.

I hope that at least helps with the highlighting part. Please let me know if that works for you.

Ashlee, that is exactly how I have had to remedy the problem. But sometimes it's almost impossible to get the new highlight box to appear over another word so that I can then place it where I need it to go. I can get a blue highlight that pops on for a moment and then goes immediately off. It doesnot have the dotted line around it or the attach option. I sure wish the engineers would work on this flaw or tell me what I am doing wrong. I spend half my time trying to get a highlight box.

@Ashlee C. @LesterChristieAnn1 I have learned the hard way (not reading instructions or articles) that when you hover over an existing highlight, the word "detach" appears, you can click on the little x in that box and the word "attach" appears with a checkmark so you can "fix" some things; also because its next to impossible to go back and forth to step 1 and 2, I also spend more time than should be needed to get the highlights correct — it also has to do with getting more than one Given Name Box and adding appropriate words in each of those boxes so you can drag them to Name Prefix and Suffix ; also what about the docs that read Surname, Given Name — those commas are not part of the name and don't belong in the boxes, or do they —- I will read the Help article later today or Monday - seems like I spend all my time in front of the computer screen!
