Marriage Bonds in Ireland
I am researching marriage records in Kilmore & Ardagh, North Ireland.
I found a Michael Kirk & Elizabeth Graham listed in a marriage bonds index in 1774, with Kilmore & Ardagh printed at the top of the page. They are listed in a Jefferson Co, OH biographical history as being from Tyrone County, N. Ireland.
The index record is possibly misindexed as Kilmore, Cork, S. Ireland. It is also under the heading of Leinster (Dublin area of S. Ireland).
Please address the inconsistency. I look forward to a response.
Thank you, Paula Shepherd

@N Tychonievich although there is no (original) notation, I have my suspicions. The Diocese of Kilmore & Ardagh definitely does not cover County Cork. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diocese_of_Kilmore,_Elphin_and_Ardagh

@PaulaShepherd1 Thank you for the report. We'll take a look and get it reported. Unfortunately, we cannot predict how long it might take for a correction to be in place.

I have come across this before and it caused by the fact that the Catholic parish name is not the same name or area as the civil parish. The COI parish is often the same name and area as the civil parish (mostly) Each Dioceses is made up of different parishes. The Indexes are from a Dioceses so the people in them will be from a number of places, a number of parishes but all from the one Dioceses.
