Cemetery Search
· What are you trying to accomplish? Why?
I absolutely love the recent Cemetery Search addition. I want to help people locate the graves of their family members, and this FamilySearch feature is the only place where you can find how you are related to people buried in a particular cemeter.
· What is the challenge or roadblock you are encountering?
· What is your idea?
1. Most of the time there is no link to BillionGraves in the Additional Links Section. [See the attached "No BillionGraves link" image.]
2. The ability to map the grave is extremely important. The only option currently available is to drag the pin on the map. [See attached" Add Burial Location" image.] This will not be very precise, and it would also be extremly time consuming. We also need the ability to enter the GPS location. Even better would be if FamilySearch automatically entered the BillionGraves GPS markers. For example, I have taken thousands of images at the Fairview Cemetery. [See attached "BillionGraves images"]. I would not want to have to individually map each grave in FamilySearch.
3. The Cemeteries are not regularly updated. Many memorials that have been linked to Find a Grave in the past year are not in the FamilySearch cemeteries. Very few of the BillionGraves memorials are in the cemeteries. When Find A Grave or BillionGraves is added as a source to any ancestor on FamilySearch, this should automatically update the cemetery on FamilySearch.
Thank you so much for adding this feature. I would love to help in any way.
