How to access England 1841 Census Images

I have tried to reach out to Family Search Support at nasupport@familysearch.com and it keeps coming back as undeliverable. I also tried to reach out via phone to my local Family Search center as per the FamilySearch website which is The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in North Bay, ON and the phone just says not available , try your call later. I try to do research for England 1841 Census and browse the 477,259 images and when I click on this link, go through the process of selecting the county and parish only to be told that if I want to view these images I need to visit my local FamilySearch center.

I am at a loss as to why none of these efforts have provided assistance. Can anyone advise?

Beth

The 1841 England and Wales Census landing page indicates

This data has been provided by Findmypast.com.

If you choose the "Browse All Images" button on that landing page, and drill down to any location, you will see the message with 3 options:

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there Aine,

Thanks very much for your response. I appreciate it. Yes, I am aware of the option to Access the images at a FamilySearch center. What I don't understand and I am a bit confused as to why we go through the process of selecting a County and a Parish only to be told that one must Access the site via a FamilySearch Center. 🙂 My problem is that I have tried to go to my local center but no one is answering the phone and thus I can't make an appointment if I don't know when they are open. I live a half hour away. Also, I tried to get help through the support email and it isn't working either. So if one cannot go to a FamilySearch Center how can we see the images?? I guess we are out of luck if one isn't lucky enough to live near a center?? I have my fingers crossed. :) 😁

You can view the image at home if you create a FindMyPast account. That may be cheaper than gas to drive to the center. Also, the 1841 England census can be viewed at Ancestry.com, again, you would need to create an account.

If you are a member of the church, you can create both of these accounts for free. Click on Solutions Gallery in the footer of a FS page, then go to the group LDS Access.

There have been a few threads about issues with some of the England and Wales censuses. FS lost access for a while and it's still a bit wonky, with LDS church members being able to see more images than non-members. I couldn't get search to cough up the thread with the details, but I believe the issue is still under investigation.

@Paul W do you perhaps have that thread bookmarked? I recall that you were also active in that latest thread about the issues with the E&W censuses. Thanks.

Evry one can access the premium websites at all Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapels.
