Adding multiple surnames
US—City Directories, 1902–1935 [Part B][MQNC-42L] The instructions for this directory is to add multiple surnames if shown. After indexing several names for instance Levy, at the bottom of the list of names that have the surname Levy it says to also see Levi. Is Levi to be added to all people who have the name of Levy?

No, "see also" doesn't mean that any of those people had the other name. In fact, it specifically means that they didn't have that name. It's a suggestion to the user of the directory: if you didn't find your person under Levy, then try Levi.

Regarding U.S.-Cities Directories 1902–1935 [Part B][MQNW-42Y]. There is a field for spouse's surname. In the directory it is common to see an entry such as, Jones, Michael (Mary). The spouse's given name is Mary. Should we enter Jones as her surname or leave that field it blank?

Re above question. I found the answer. The surname of the spouse is to be entered as the same as the husband. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is this the same in the case of a woman who is listed in the directory as primary? The deceased husband is given the same surname is the widowed woman?

Yes, S Cooper, that's right. But if it says "Jones, Mary (wid John)", we don't index John.
