Find a person is not working

The "find a person" option does not work for relatives on my father's side. I have to enter all relevant information manually to keep the family tree going.
Why does the option mentioned not find my people?

Do you maintain your own tree in your desktop computer or is it IPAD?
Some apps have the feature to link to the persons in FamilyTree: Ancestral Quest, Rootsmagic, (at least I know of).
The other one "Find" has 2 ways - by the name or by the PID.

@JamesWilson106 , I assume you are talking about the Find command for Family Tree. This option only works for people who have already been entered into Family Tree through its original import from older FamilySearch databases or manually entered by past or current users of Family Tree. We users are the ones who are creating this tree.
It sounds like your father's side of the family have never been entered into Family Tree. That would be why you have to do this and, I assume, not having duplicates get flagged. After you have entered your relatives on your father's side, then the Find option will work just fine for you and other users of Family Tree who might look for them.
