Editing the indexing
When I change the spelling on somebody's first or last name, it gets done. But it does not give an option to edit the whole name. So a guy named John Gar Smith that should have been John Car Smith now has first name John Car and last name Smith, but the whole name is still John Gar Smith. So he is still being labeled by the wrong name. There is no option to fix the entire name. Why not have that happen automatically or allow the whole name to be corrected.

@Rusty Rail Miller There is a current, known, problem, with the editor. You'll see many threads on the topic. We hope it will be fixed, but, in the meantime, editing is problematic. I might even say it is dangerous to edit right now because record indexes disappear after editing.

The thing with the "parts don't add up to the whole" thing on the viewer/editor's side panel is that that's the one and only place where you can see that full name.
It's not shown on the index detail page, nor in search results, Source Linker, the attached source's Index Details, the old viewer's bottom tab, the browser's tab label and tooltip, or any other place on FS where index information appears (that I can think of).
In fact, the mismatch between the parts and the whole is currently the only way to tell that the name has been edited. This fact is otherwise completely and utterly hidden.
