Add Mission Event on the person's Timeline
I have a suggestion for important life events to add to the Family Search TIMELINE. We are putting together a family chart and realized that Family Search does not have a place to add the missions of our ancestors. In the timeline, you see important life events such as birth, baptisms, marriages, etc., but we would appreciate the option to add the missions of our loved ones as well. It would make sharing with our family when they served and where with others easier, as well as finding the information in the future. I know many other Christian denominations also encourage missions as well so I hope it could be useful for many people.
If this is already an option in Family Search and we do not know where to input it please let me know I would like to record this significant life event.
Thank you,
Shannon Thackeray

This feature already exists: add the activity under Other Information as a custom event. If you include a date and location in such an entry, it will be shown on the timeline and map.
We're not LDS, so I'm demonstrating with my grandfather's time as a POW. The first one is when and where he was taken prisoner, the second one is when and where he was released. It uses the Title field of the custom event as the label in the timeline.
The second line on the timeline is the Description field of the custom event, shown at the bottom of the entry in the Other Information section.
