I just got confirmation that this problem has been fixed. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Can you show us a screenshot of what you mean? I use a large monitor, but even if I narrow the window to 1/4 of my monitor, I still see the full PID when I scroll down a page. For example:

I'm having the same issue. I have a MacBook 13". This is a very recent development, perhaps since 1st of the year.

I had that happen yesterday, I have no idea what could've caused it.

(1) I start at the top of the page and see this (full ID displayed):
(2) Slowly using the wheel on my mouse the "header" (name and ID lines) disappears:
(3) One or two more clicks of the mouse wheel (as I scroll further down the page) produces this (clipped ID reference):
To replicate, just try scrolling down a Details page, starting from the top. Probably something the engineers are playing around with at the moment, which obviously appears to be a "work in progress". (Or should that be, "another bug"?)

Well spotted @Paul W !
I confirm now that I see it as well. (I'd noticed that the truncated version had lost View Tree and View Relationship but hadn't twigged why...)
It appears to be an attempt to keep the name and profile-ID visible when the user scrolls down the page in a manner such that those items would have disappeared off the top. Because it's not the actual top of the screen but a pop-up version, it presumably hasn't inherited all the correct sizing of items.
PS - the OP mentioned "scroll down" as well, but it didn't sink in...

Reported as a possible bug.

It wasn't until this started happening that I realized how often I glance at that ID#! It's helpful to see the ending characters, because the beginning characters are often the same for people who are related (entered at the same time).
I'm glad it's been reported. Thanks.☺️

@Maile L I've seen it but it is only apparent when you scroll down the page. Here's my father - L8P5-RJR
Once I scroll down the page, the PID at the top is truncated.

And @Maile L ile, once I scroll down on Alfred Randall -

Yep, there it is. Thanks. I will escalate this one.

I was about to ask for any update on this, as I'm sure as recently as a couple of days ago the ID reference was still being clipped once you scrolled down the page.
However, I just performed a few "test scrolls" and the problem does appear to have been dealt with.
Thank you to those involved (Rhonda, Maile and engineers) for getting this resolved.

@Ashlee C. The problem with a truncated PID WAS repaired, but it seems to have snuck back in.
It's a shame we still cannot share screenshots to show the problem easily. If you view this index https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FCX5-721
and view the attached similar records, down the right side, you will see that the PIDs are truncated, making it very difficult to know if the records are attached to the same person.
Could this one please be escalated again?
Thank you.

Those truncated PIDs are next door to useless.
However, with my pedantic "exactly what has happened?" debugging hat on, I do have to ask if those truncated PIDs are the same failure mode as before? I remember the PID being truncated at the top of the display of a Profile… But these truncations are seen on the display of an index record, which isn't the same thing as a profile. So I wonder if it's the same symptoms but on a different display, rather than a repeat of the exact same fault?
Whatever the reason, the truncated values are indeed a poor display…

Thanks for catching this! It looks like the problem is in a different place now, but definitely needs fixing.
It used to be on the Person Page (when you scrolled down, the number at the top was incomplete). That looks okay now, but the PID is truncated on the Search results page when it suggests possible matches for the source.

@Adrian Bruce1 I agree it may not be the same cause, but the result, as you say, makes the PID next to useless.

Is this browser thing? I'm using Chrome (up to date), Windows 10 with a 24.8" monitor. The PIDs of the 5 similar attached index records are fully displayed for me. Even if I resize the browser window to a very small size, the PIDs (1 x MJD2-1LD and 4 x MY4G-5NQ) are still fully visible. Edge behaves the same way.
When you hover your mouse over one of the offending PIDs, is the grey background that appears surrounding the PID big enough to accommodate the full PID or is it truncated too?

The PID is displaying fine for me now, although it wasn't 8 hours ago. Maybe it's fixed?
I use Chrome too.

@JulianBrown38 I tested on multiple profiles and multiple record indexes before I posted. And I'm using a 32-inch monitor, so a narrow display is not the cause.
My usual is 110% for FS, and I also tested at 100% and 90% before posting.
My kingdom for a screenshot.
