How to unhide a chat without knowing the person's name?

I accidentally hid a chat from someone who recently reached out to me. I don't know the person's name.

This support article says the way to unhide a chat is to, "Enter person's name or username in the "Name" field on the right side of the chat window."

However, since I don't know the person's name, that doesn't work for me.

I have read the Chat Guide and a related community discussion.

So far, the best answer I have found is that, in a previous version of the Family Tree app, (as of Oct 2023?) it was possible to unhide a chat; I suppose I can try to find out which version that was, and then install that apk...

I would rather be able to unhide a chat in the current interface, and I recommend this be added. Perhaps a "hidden chats" list could be added.

Thank you,

That feature continues to be available in the Family Tree app (either Android or iOS, but since you referred to an APK, I assume you are on Android). So just install the current version of the Family Tree app, go to Chat, and in the three-dot menu choose Settings. There you will see your hidden chats. Tap on the one you are interested in, and you'll see an option to Unhide.

    Thank you; that worked.
