Features and Capabilities of the site/app
As somebody who has used FamilySearch, I have gotten upset and irritated when work i have done is all of a sudden gone or changed by somebody with different research than myself. The people sometimes get extremely rude if things get changed and will yell and berate you in a private message.
My idea is to let people have individual family trees, similar to Ancestry.com, where information can be shared but does not universally alter another persons tree. Ancestry is much like that. People can make suggestions but it does not change another persons family tree completely, which I believe would be of great benefit on this site and on the app.

If you want to borrow books, do you go to the bookstore and berate them for wanting to sell you books instead?
FamilySearch is a collaborative tree website. If what you want is individual trees, you should use an individual tree website (such as Ancestry). Both structures have their advantages and disadvantages, and we all have to choose which one better suits our purposes and personalities.

The request has been made many times; it's not likely to be pursued.
As Julia says, the goal of the FS platform is a single collaborative tree with one profile for each person who ever lived. To change now or to ADD the possibility of individual trees would take time and money. It's just not going to happen.
