When the wife's name is in brackets, is the wife added on a separate line. Or in the same line as the husband?

    • Project Instructions: A spouse's name, if listed, may have been recorded in parentheses after the name of the principal individual. The surname should be indexed for both individuals. (There's a place for the spouse on the primary's line, so you wouldn't create another record for her.)

A spouses given "name and middle initial" may be in parentheses. This is more clear.

The surname should be indexed for both individuals.. Does this mean that we type the husband's surname in the spouse's surname field and the spouse's given name in the field for spouses given name?

Do I index the spouses name if it is at the end of the occupation and address and not in parentheses?
