Offer an "Expand All" on the Descendancy Pedigree Chart
- What are you trying to accomplish? I'd like to be able to view an entire family line through expanding the Descendancy Chart without having to click on each expansion arrow in the chart.
- Why? Save a lot of time.
- What is the challenge or roadblock you are encountering? Since I must click on each expansion arrow, it is easy to miss some.
- What is your idea? To create an "Expand All" button for this purpose of viewing the entire line.
- How would solving this challenge improve your experience?" Save me a lot of time.

Although I understand why you might find this useful, such a feature is impractical. FamilySearch has to make compromises and set limits in order to present a reasonable amount of data and make reasonable use of server resources.
If you were looking at Charlemagne's descendancy tree, for example, and you could request "Expand All" it would take an unreasonable amount of time and computing power to gather the millions of descendants, and even longer to send those results to your browser, and no browser could display that vast amount of data.
So FamilySearch gives you the option to expand the descendancy tree up to 4 generations automatically. In some cases that is a very large amount of data, but still reasonable.
Personally, if I am tempted to request more than 4 generations, I usually find that I have lost the focus of my research. I need to reset my descendancy view to start with a child or grandchild of the current ancestor and then I will have a more reasonable set of descendants that I can work on.
