When wanting to chat to a contributor - it does not show when that person last was active
this would give you some idea if they were to respond.
For some record holders remaining have knowingly died.

I understand why you would like this information about when a person was last active. But that has to be balanced against privacy concerns. There are many people upset about the fact that Chat shows their online status to other people (see here, for example: https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/531802/#Comment_531802 ). Such people would likely not want their last active status displayed to other users, either.

Allow people to opt in to having their online status and separately their last active date/time shown? For those who are used to (and happy with) that level of 'presence' awareness on WhatsApp etc., and given the clear problems with communication between FS users in other ways, this has to be a really positive step.
