Searching for Memories
I know that memories are searchable. They can be searched by Topic Tags as well as words in the title and in the text. What if a photo memory or an audio recording does not have any Tags, Titles, or Text? Does that mean the memory cannot be found, so it is essentially private? I wonder if this is a way to make a memory private without checking it "private" so that it would remain if a person passed away.

Memories are only private if they have been marked as private; all other memories are public, even if they might be somewhat difficult to find. You mentioned topic tags, titles, and text. Other easy ways to find them are via person tags or albums. But other ways are possible; certainly anyone who has the URL or the artifact ID can find a memory. And I wouldn't rule out future search capabilities that might rely on AI to match people or items in photos. In any case, I would certainly never have any confidence that mere obscurity of memories is a guarantee of privacy.

Thank you for these thoughts. I'm thinking of answers to personal questions that a person may want to keep private, but it would be sad if these reflections were lost at the person's death. Maybe a solution would be to mark them private, but also make a copy in some format that would be available at some point in time.
