Saving information when standardizing places
When you're going through and standardizing the location of an event, it can cause you to lose more specific information. When standardizing places, there should also be a box to add additional notes where applicable. For example, I was trying to standardize a location that would be Manhattan, New York, New York, but the member who uploaded the information also had added the electoral district and assembly district where the person lived. I had to go into the file to make a note so that additional information hadn't been lost.

That extra information should remain part of the place name. Standardizing does not mean "remove additional information so it matches the standard." It means "link the full place name to the most appropriate available standard."
