I'm indexing a Declaration of Intention record, US, Michigan—Naturalization Records, 1887–1943[MQFC-MPM]. The year of birth is typed as 1910, and above it is handwritten 1891. The record year is also typed as 1910, so the birth year must indeed be wrong. Should I enter 1891, or leave the field blank?

The date sworn in is 1924. He's 33 so 1891 would be correct. The person filling out the form apparently wrote the arrival year as the birth year also. When info is corrected on the document, we index the correction anyway. https://prod.familysearch.psdops.com/cmsa/idx/crossed-out-corrected-canceled-or-void-information

Since the earlier date is not crossed out, 1891 will be the birth year. From Indexing Dates in the General Indexing Guidelines:

If multiple dates were given for a birth, type the earliest date.

General Indexing Guidelines can be found under Project Instructions/General Indexing Guidelines.
