How to remove person from tree not related to me
some one i do not know and not related to added a deceased person to my tree stating that it is my brother. I do not have a brother0. Their mistake is that my mother has the same name as deceased's mother. My mother was born in a different state.
How do i remove this incorrect information and how to have this not happen in the future?
Thank You,

Hi Kathleen - Welcome to FamilySearch Community and asking your question about an unrelated person added to your tree. Removing the person is done by removing the relationship. Go to your mother's person page, down to the family members section under the details tab. Go down to the person added and click on the pencil icon to the right of the person added. You can then remove the person. Here is a link to more detail instructions.
With regard to preventing this in the future, it is helpful to make sure the person incorrectly added to your family is put in the correct family. I know you are not related but it is perfectly fine for you to put the record in the right place even if you have to create some new records. It also helps if you have some sources for this unrelated person. Hope this helps.

@Wayland K Adams I'm going to put on my nit-picker hat and say that the poster will not be creating new records but new profiles.
The term record is over-used and abused in genealogy. On the FS Home Search page
What is a historical record?
A historical record is an official document that recognizes an event in a person's life. Examples include marriage licenses, draft cards, birth certificates, and census records.
We attach records to the person's profile. Those records are the sources we use as evidence.

I found out that the man who was supposed to be my grandfather isn't the right one. Found the right one but can't change them out in my tree.

Here are a couple of Help Center articles on correcting relationships in the Tree:

None of the answer fit for me. I picked the wrong person and now can't remove her and insert the right person. All answers say to do things like click on the children (none are listed), click on the edit pencil (there is no pencil). Please help me get the correct person in.

If you are on the person detail page, there are pencil icons everywhere, to edit what needs to be fixed.
If I had the wrong mother for Mary Casey, in this example, I click on the pencil next to her name, under her parents:
And I see the option to remove or replace either of her parents (at the top) or to remove her from both of them (at the bottom).
If you don't see pencil icons, then you may be on the About tab. If that's where you are, then click on Details to move to the tab where you can edit.

Yes, editing relationships is one of the things you can do in the collaborative, communal Family Tree. Are you having trouble with it?
Here's another very recent thread with basically the same question, and my reply with a couple of relevant Help Center articles: https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/540356#Comment_540356.
