Census records: search for parents' birth place
I am trying to pull some data from the 1910 US population census for my research on immigration to Montana from your website.
The following query yields 0 results:
Residence: “Montana, USA”
Birth: “United States”
Father’s Birthplace: “Switzerland”
I get the same result when I use Mother’s Birthplace = “Switzerland.”
In fact, any search involving the field father’s or mother’s birthplace returns zero results. This is strange because both fields on parents' birthplace are indexed when you look at individual records.

@LucaCriscione Perhaps you could share the Person ID for your Father and we will see if we can get different results.

As I understand the question, the poster is not researching one individual but is looking for a set of people matching the parameters.

Not sure you can do what you want on FamilySearch. The Ancestry search engine allows for specifying the Father's birth place and/or Mother's birth place. Anyone seen that as a capability on FamilySearch?

Thanks for looking into this, everyone!
That's right, the Ancestry search engine produces results with the parents' birthplace fields, but ancestry hardly lets you export useful data.
The search field s exist in family search aswell, the queries just don't return any results.

@LucaCriscione I can see the dilemma. I tried to search for Fathers Birth Place Switzerland in 1910 1920 1930 Census with no other search terms, same result. Nothing.
