Are there volunteers that research

@Steve7350 "It depends."
What film/location are you trying to research? Where is it available (a FamilySearch Center, an Affiliate Library, or only in Salt Lake City)?
I often retrieve records for others if it is something available at an FSC or AL. If you need records from Salt Lake City, you'll need to find someone who is local there, and that often means hiring someone to do the work. Cyndi's List is a good place to start.
Best of luck!

I have been trying to view film number 473488. It is a german church record from the 1600 to around 1830.
I can find it online, but can't view due to being restricted. It has a camera icon, but has a key above it. I contacted the Family Search center and was told it wouldn't be available online or at an Affiliate library. I went to a local Family Search center today but it was still restricted.
I emailed them and found out it is available at Salt Lake City, Utah center.

I am not a LDS church member, and the message I see for film number 473488 is
"To view these images do one of the following:You may be able to view this image by visiting one of our partners' sites or the legal record custodian (fees may apply)".
In the past this has been FamilySearch double speak, meaning the online film is only available to LDS church members, bur I do nor know if this is the current meaning. If you are going to the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, or hiring a researcher to go there, I would definitely be sure you have it confirmed by the FSL the film is available to non church members. (When you say "You emailed them" are you referring to your local FamilySearch Center, or to the FSL?)

@Steve7350 I recommend you join and post in the Germany Research Group. The volunteers may be able to point you to another site with access to those Kirchenbücher.
The collection page indicates access only to LDS Church members in Germany, but there is no indication about here in the USA.

Some of the Lutheran registers for Hüllhorst are behind the paywall on Archion (https://www.archion.de/en/search), so I suspect they're not viewable even in Salt Lake.
(I also suspect that the catalog's "LDS only in Germany" refers to an old, now-outdated contract.)

I emailed the family search through the contact us link. It was a support person that responded.
It stated that you can view the film at the salt lake city library. For me that is over a 1000 miles away.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it.

Yes, I was pretty sure the records would be behind the Archion paywall, but that's less expensive than a plane ticket and hotel in SLC.

@Steve7350 maybe try the Free research consultation located in the Quick Links section.
It's worth a try. Happy Hunting :)

The instructions for the Free Research Consultation include the comment that restricted record images cannot be provided.

I left a message at the Salt Lake City library to try and get some clarification on trying to view the film.
Someone has reviewed it, because on Ancestry there is a record from it on there.

For future reference, @Steve7350, the more information you provide in your post, the easier it is for us to help. A vague question may not get a reply, or it may take several rounds of "give us more information," as it did in this case.
Best of luck with your research.

Thank you all for your responses.
After talking to a couple of people at the Family Search Library in Salt lake City, I found out the following.
To view film # 473488 online, you have to live in Germany and be a member of the LDS.
The film that is at the Family Search Library in Salt lake City Utah can be view by anyone.
I have found someone that researches genealogy for people that lived near the library and is willing to get the info I'm looking for.
Thanks again.
Steve
