I really, really like Goldie May. It installs in Chrome and tracks my activities and suggests things I should do to make sure I have left no record unturned.

There is a Free Class from the BYU Family History Library that is indispensable.

There is no Research Log option on the FamilySearch website. There are many options and suggestions in the field. For example, professional genealogist Thomas MacEntee uses an Excel spreadsheet.

I use a more free-form approach, keeping research notes in a free diary program, iDailyDiary. There are many other suggestions available online.

There is an article in the FamilySearch Wiki about using a Research Log and includes a form that you can print out, if you want to use it.
